What we collect, and what we do with it

What this page covers

This page covers strongblocks.com. Two other systems have their own privacy rules:

• AppFolio runs our listings, applications, and resident portal. It keeps the forms and files you send there. This includes income and identity files. Strong Blocks may keep a private copy of your contact details and application status. We use that copy to work with you.
• PetScreening runs the pet screening every applicant completes, with pets or without.

If you have never used the Home Alerts form, this website does not collect your name, email, or phone number. It may still include your visit in the traffic counts described below.

Home Alerts

If you fill in the Home Alerts form, we collect exactly the fields on it:

• your first and last name
• your email address
• your phone number, if you choose to give one
• the number of bedrooms you need
• the most you can pay in rent
• roughly when you are looking to move

We also save the date you signed up and the page you used. We do not ask for your income, credit history, date of birth, or Social Security number on this website. A page on strongblocks.com that asks for those things is not ours.

What we use it for

We use it to tell you when a Strong Blocks home is open. We may also answer a question you sent us. Signing up is not an application. It does not save your place in line.

Where it is kept

We keep it in a Google Firebase database in the United States. Public website pages cannot read it. Only approved Strong Blocks staff can get in.

How long we keep it

We keep it while you want updates or work with Strong Blocks. If you ask us to remove it, we take it off our email lists. We may still need to keep a small record. This may be needed for a lease, application, home sale, payment, safety issue, or legal duty. We may also keep a note that says not to email you.

How to get off the list

Use the unsubscribe link in an email. You may also email info@strongblocks.com. You do not have to say why. You may ask what contact details we have about you. You may also ask us to fix them.

Who else sees it

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anybody. We do not run advertising on this site and we do not let anyone else advertise to you based on being here.

These companies help us run the site:

• Google Firebase stores the database and serves this website.
• Google Analytics counts visits and the actions listed below. It uses one cookie that this website sets.
• AppFolio, if you go on to apply, which is your choice and a separate step.

We may also share a record when the law says we must.

Counting visits

We want to know which pages help people. We send Google a visit or click count. We also send the page, time, browser type, device type, and rough area. We do not send your name, email, phone number, form answers, or application details.

To count visits we store one small file in your browser. It is called a cookie. Ours holds a random number, not your name and not anything you typed. It lets us tell a first visit from a return visit, and it lets us see that the page you read one week led to the step you took the next. That is how we learn which pages are worth writing.

This cookie is only for counting visits on this website. It is not used for ads and it does not follow you to other websites. You can delete it or block it whenever you want. The site works the same either way.

We count page views and five actions:

• viewing available homes
• finishing the self-screen
• signing up for Home Alerts
• going to AppFolio
• opening the Resident Portal

We do not use Google Signals, ad targeting, session replay, or tracking across other websites. We do not use Facebook or TikTok trackers. The site still works if you block analytics.

Children

This site is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.

Fair housing

Strong Blocks is an equal housing opportunity provider. We do not make housing choices based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, family status, national origin, or any other protected trait. We do not use website data to do so. You can read our full approval rules without filling in a form.

Changes to this page

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we change this page and the date at the top.
